A Response to a Gannett Article calling for more Civility

While I agree that civility is an important attribute of society, and is a commodity missing in American politics today. I think the old media writer here is experiencing something different than rudeness. I think this writer is longing for the days when liberals were "young, bright, enthusiastic,” and therefore their brashness must be accepted as zeal.

You see, this lack of civility didn't begin with town hall meetings or modern Tea Party’s'. It began when Democrats attempted to ruin one Judge Robert Bork in 1987. It was at this place in modern history that the gloves came off and gentility was sacrificed on the altar of political victory. Brashness spread its ugly head to Judge Thomas, Bush 41, Dan Quayle, and Bush 43. It came with many different blooms on its vine: a modern day lynching, “Bush=Hitler”, “Boo-ing” Bush 43 during a speech to Congress, General “Betrayus”, insults to the American military for the sake of political expediency, and insulting one former POW for not using a keyboard as backwards and out of touch because his hands were damaged while in service to his country.

There are also those who hide behind their religion to incorporate their rudeness. The REVERENDS Jessie Jackson drawing the race card like a gun, Jeremiah Write and his decades-old rantings against America and those evil white folks, Michael Pfledger defending racism, and untold thousands of black Pastors preaching hatred from their pulpits. You see? The lack of civility; or at least gentility has been absent from politics for decades.

This brashness has now mutated into insulting Americans who disagree with liberals. It has degenerated even further to assaulting the elderly, and calling black conservatives “niggers” while in the act of a felonious assault and battery. Think of this, the liberals are willing to throw away all they’ve espoused just to win one single political issue. It reeks of hatred, vileness, and hypocrisy. “Civility” is the least of Americas issues.

The real concern of the old media is that conservatives have begun to incorporate the liberals play book into theirs. They aren’t supposed to do that, (in the liberal’s opinion). While liberals are enthusiastic and brash, conservatives are supposed to be refined and stoic. Now that they have control of both houses, and the Executive Branch, the libs want to adopt an air of sophistication. Their “sensibilities” are now offended by the “aggressiveness” of those they mean to rule, instead of lead.

Joe Wilson may have breached decorum, but he wasn’t the first to breach that decorum. He’s just the first to have to answer for it. This is another attempt at a modern day lynching by liberals against a conservative. This time it isn’t going to happen. The Democrats have over-shot their position out of desperation. The Congressman enunciated what 52% of Americans already know- and the liberals are near apoplexy over it. The liberal sophistication is a ruse, the gentility is fake, and the only thing concerning to the liberal media is they no longer control the dialog of American politics.

Let me assert with all the gentility the old media deserves: “Screw you, buddy. Better get used to it.”‘nuff said. . .
